About this project

Hello 👋 I'm Sérgio Pimenta, and this is my personal website.

I've always been fascinated by computers and wanted to understand how they really work—from transistors and logic gates all the way up to complete systems.

The Problem

Modern technology has become too complex for any single person to grasp at once. Today's software is built on so many layers of abstraction that it's nearly impossible to see what's really happening underneath.

To truly understand computers, it often helps to look at older machines. They were simpler, more transparent, and easier to reason about.

But there's a catch: those systems are no longer practical. They're rare, fragile, and tied to outdated hardware like CRTs, cassette tapes, and floppy disks.

The Solution

I wanted the clarity of old computers, but with the practicality of modern technology.

That’s why I created this website.

What You'll Find Here

This space is dedicated to my learning journey. It is where I document my experiments, findings, and conclusions as I try to understand how computers work from their foundations. I enjoy rebuilding systems from scratch, sometimes even reinventing the wheel, because that is how I truly learn how things are made and why they work the way they do.

My goal is to make this knowledge accessible, practical, and build interactive tools that run directly in the browser on any modern device, no vintage hardware required.

Behind the Project

This website is developed entirely by one person using modern web tools (including Astro Js). It’s a project in constant evolution, shaped by curiosity, experimentation, and learning in public.

If you encounter bugs, issues, or have suggestions, feel free to reach out through the contact page. Feedback is always welcome.

Thank you for being here. I hope you find something useful, interesting, or inspiring as you explore.

Whether you're a student, developer, or just curious about how computers work, welcome to the journey.
